GramTech makes grammar approachable. GramTech provides an interactive medium that draws in even the most grammatically timid. Positive support and guidance from the educator will build confidence to learn – and then confidence to think logically and practice independently.

GramTech provides a medium that allows student and educator communication to occur more easily. Anxiety is avoided by viewing the program as the "teacher" and the teacher as the "guide". The educator can work through a lesson or part of a lesson with a student as an ally. This places the student more at ease – and once more relaxed, the student will begin to process what they are viewing more clearly.

GramTech offers a great teaching dynamic, allowing an instructor, parent, teacher or educator to work one-on-one with a student while still allowing the student to do the work. Let the student drive! Even the most timid will learn that they can be successful with GramTech. The unique design allows the student to discover the correct answers in the lessons. The educator can coach the student by encouraging the use of the immediate help and methodologies (failsafe and checklists) presented with each lesson. Talking the student through the thought process of using "help" to make good decisions will build confidence.

GramTech builds independence in motivation as well as grammar skills. Rather than rely on peer pressure or teacher critique to motivate a student, GramTech provides the student with the feedback and the tools to do well.

Getting Started
Whether you are using the Home Version of the School Version of GramTech, all users require a log-in and password. A log-in is needed to track progress and ensure students of confidentiality. To create a password simply follow the steps provided in the GramTech tutorial.

Tutorial Review
It is a good idea for the student to go through the tutorial; however, many students may be bored and not glean what is necessary to be successful GramTech users. Therefore, it is recommended that the educator thoroughly reviews the Tutorial and even completes at least one of each lesson type.

Interacting with GramTech
Sit down with the student and explain to them the key features of GramTech. Motivate and hold their interest by letting them know how their progress is tracked. Review the following features:

  • discovering correct answers as they do a lesson
  • GramTech "help" available at all times to help them make good decisions
  • progress will be tracked – errors will be recorded and lessons are graded
  • retrying lessons to improve their scores

Finally, encourage the student not to rush, to do their best, to read carefully and think through what they are doing.

Monitoring Progress and Reviewing Areas of Difficulty
As the educator you can monitor the student's progress by reviewing their statistics for each lesson. This will help to quickly identify any problem areas. You may want to do some lessons with the student in the problem areas or have them retry these lessons. Particular sentences can be examined together.

Successful Completion
Upon successful completion of the course, it is recommended that you review the student's progress. Show them areas they struggled with but also point out their strong areas. Show them where their scores have improved through retries. Reinforce self-confidence and deductive thinking.

Raise the Bar
Now that your student has completed a course, they should have built up the confidence to use GramTech and to work through lessons on their own. Now you can challenge them with more difficult lessons. Contact us to order a course with more challenging content. Trivia, US history or customized course materials are also available.
