Why do I need to learn grammar?
The orderly mind acknowledges the link between itself and language. Producing clear, effective sentences depends upon the understanding of grammatical rules, modern mechanics and proper usage. With a sound understanding of language your comprehension, writing, and communications skills will greatly improve. Why Grammar?

Is the course level content suitable for my son who is in third grade?
GramTech Home Edition was designed for third grade to eighth grade students. However, we have had fourth and fifth grade students readily complete the entire course! If students lack a background in grammar, they can progress through the self-taught lessons in a few weeks. Additional course material will be available for added practice and for maintenance exercises on-line.

Can I add course material?
There is an "add new course" menu command that easily guides you through the process of adding a course. Courses can be purchased, downloaded, and easily added to GramTech.

Can I teach myself?
Yes. The format of the skill sets and lessons in GramTech's Home Version along with the online help and automatic progress tracking features gives you all the tools you need to successfully study and learn English Grammar basics. It is recommended that you go through the GramTech Tutorial.

Will this help my children with reading comprehension?
Yes! In English, the placement of words within the sentence determines part of speech and purpose. By learning to mentally diagram, the meaning of a sentence becomes clear. For SAT preparation, understanding word problems in math or in logic requires that the proper meaning of the sentence is discerned. GramTech shows how to analyze sentences – you can logically identify inconsistencies that may confuse others.

I home-school my three children, can they each use GramTech?
Yes. They can each have their own login. The login tracks what course(s) they are working on and their progress.

I want to learn to speak English. Will this help me?
GramTech is not intended to teach you how to speak English. What it will do is enable you to understand the proper constructs of the language. The program is intended for people who already have a basic level of writing and speaking proficiency.

How can I effectively use GramTech in my classroom?
GramTech was designed to be an essential language tool for students, teachers, and parents. It can be used as a virtual blackboard for classroom discussions and challenges, a workbook for self-paced learning or review, and as a powerful home study course. GramTech has been found effective for independent study, one-on-one teaching, computer lab and as a classroom station. We only have one computer in our classroom, can ten students use it?
Yes. Rotating through learning stations in the classroom allows computer time for everyone on a daily basis. GramTech provides a unique login to allow several students to be able to use the product while maintaining their progress and keeping track of where they are in the course.

How does GramTech teach grammar to third and eighth grade students?
GramTech provides the lessons – you decide which to teach. Course materials are provided in six standard courses to follow a student from third to eighth grade.

Does it grade my student's work?
Yes. GramTech has automatic progress tracking available that grades all work, provides details of errors, and also provides reports which can be viewed and/or printed.

Is this another game, or will the students really learn the basics?
GramTech is NOT a game. It is serious educational software. The graphical forms and text based instructions give multiple approaches to learning. By successfully completing the GramTech course, students will learn the basics. However, there are features that were designed into GramTech that promote motivation, instill confidence, and hold the student's focus.

Was this product developed by a programmer or a teacher?
The methodology behind GramTech which teaches logical thinking was developed by teachers and students. It has been classroom proven through years of successful learning. The software product, GramTech, is the result of a team effort to build an application to provide an effective method and tool for teaching English grammar.

What computer will it operate on?
The current version of GramTech will operate on Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000 and XP-Home Edition. It is recommended that the PC have at least 32M of RAM, and 100M of free hard drive space.
